Introduction

The faculty's computing facilities are located on the first floor of the Chatham building and consist of four PC labs and one Apple Macintosh lab. All the machines are networked, and printing facilities are provided in each room for Humanities students. The labs are generally available on a drop-in basis but they may be booked out for classes - see the timetable on the door of the lab before you enter. Support is provided at a helpdesk, situated in Room 127a, which is manned at all times by a member of the Faculty Information Systems Team, and the extension number for which is 6092. Access to the Faculty's computing equipment is subject to Conditions of Use to which all students who have an account on the system will have agreed.

Opening times

During the summer vacation, the drop-in labs are closed to students while server maintenance is carried out. All student accounts have been removed from the system, and no registration will take place until the beginning of term. If necessary, it is possible for students to use temporary accounts - call in at the Helpdesk for details - but no email facilities will be available.

During the academic year, the opening hours for the drop-in labs in Chatham are:

       Monday 9.00 18.30

       Tuesday 9.00 18.30

There are at present no computing facilities available to the Faculty's students outside of these hours.
